For the 17th edition of the I-Corps Puerto Rico program
Grupo Guayacán is looking for entrepreneurs who want to validate their business ideas in the seventeenth edition of the I-Corps Puerto Rico program.
This year, the program will be offered in a hybrid format, with a face-to-face and virtual component. The in-person workshops will be held at the Healthcare Innovation Center in Ponce.
For this edition, 25 teams with a business idea whose potential they want to validate, will be selected. I-Corps Puerto Rico offers training in the process of exploring the viability of a business concept. Participants will conduct interviews with potential customers to determine the chances of success of the business.
Thanks to the sponsorship of Grupo Guayacán, the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC, in Spanish) and the Healthcare Innovation Center, the workshops will be free for participants.
Those interested in participating must complete an online application on or before March 1. Participants are required to be a team of two to four people, fluent in English, and able to attend all sessions and complete program tasks.
Those interested in sharing their knowledge with future entrepreneurs can also apply to participate in the program as mentors. The mentoring application can be accessed here.
“I-Corps Puerto Rico offers a unique opportunity to test a business idea before investing in its development, which allows us to use accurate data to evaluate the concept and significantly increase its chances of success. With the experience of the 16 previous editions, we have worked with 347 teams totaling more than a thousand participants, and 271 teams have graduated from the program, giving free rein to their ideas, obtaining the tools to turn them into successful businesses,” said Patricia Ramirez, program manager.
For the first time since the program’s inception in 2015, Grupo Guayacán formalized a collaboration with Colmena 66, part of the Puerto Rico Science and Technology and Research Trust, who offer the Acércate al Grant Program. Participants of Acércate al Grant will have the opportunity to validate their business idea at I-Corps Puerto Rico as part of the program.
Once the teams are selected, the workshops will begin in April in Ponce.
