The certification is granted by IATA to air carriers for the highest standards in the handling of pharmaceutical products
Prime Air Corp, a Puerto Rican logistics and global transportation services company, obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to air carriers for the highest standards in the handling of pharmaceutical products.
With the certification – which entailed training and audits to comply with the requirements established by the international organization and the pharmaceutical industry – the company raises its level of competitiveness as promoted by the initiative led by Puerto Rico Life Science Air Cargo Community, informed Iris Vincent, president of Prime Air Corp.
“The CEIV Pharma certification is a significant recognition of Prime Air’s ability to meet the pharmaceutical industry’s stringent supply chain and logistics requirements. This achievement not only strengthens our position in the marketplace, but also increases our customers’ confidence in the quality and safety of the services we provide,” Vincent said.
CEIV Pharma certification sets standards for the handling, storage and transportation of pharmaceutical products, including temperature-sensitive products such as vaccines and biologics, which ensures that the logistics company handles products in accordance with industry best practices.
The CEIV Pharma certification is in addition to the TAPA FSR & TSR certifications granted by the Transport Asset Protection Association, which highlight Prime Air’s secure infrastructure and robust processes for the management of high-value and sensitive cargo, ensuring protection against risks such as theft and tampering.
In addition, the company is certified to the ISO 9001:2015 global standard that confirms its quality management systems meet international standards, ensuring an efficient and customer-focused operation in all aspects of the business.
“Having these certifications not only validates our commitment to operational excellence, but also strengthens our ability to offer logistics and cargo handling solutions that meet the highest industry standards. We are proud to be recognized for our dedication to quality, safety and reliability in all aspects of our service,” concluded Vincent.
Primer Air Corp. is located at the Luis Muñoz Marín Airport. It has temperature-controlled warehouses, both 2-8c and 15-25c, to supply the growing demand of pharmaceutical and medical device companies on the island in compliance with all the demands and quality controls required by the industry.
