Non-emergency health services transportation company TransCita recently inaugurated its new 15,000 square-foot headquarters in Guaynabo, reflecting its corporate growth, said company President Jorge Ruiz-Román.
“The company has grown 90 percent from its beginnings,” said Ruiz-Román. “We now have a more comfortable space for the 70 office workers that make up the TransCita family. We also have 150 passenger service representatives.”
The modern facilities provide space to accommodate all administration, finance, customer service, logistics, route monitoring, call center, transportation and fleet management personnel under the same roof. These changes also allow the company to advance its technological operations.
The company is developing various software programs to improve transportation and patient data storage services, he said.
TransCita grew 35 percent in its transportation services between 2013 and 2014. At present, the company receives 80,000 calls per month and has 130 licensees from the Public Service Commission. Currently, TransCita makes more than 20,000 trips per month on the island and has contracts with many health plans.
“These new changes allow us to continue providing high-quality services to our customers,” said Melvin Acosta-Román, TransCita’s business development manager.
“We are now giving iPads to our drivers to help them manage their daily routes more effectively,” he added.
All of TransCita’s drivers are trained paramedics or emergency medical technicians and are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In addition, they have all received approvals from the Passenger Service and Safety certification program.
